"The meetings with Valery Gerasimov on Ukraine take place regularly, nearly daily, but they are usually not covered on television," stated Dmitry Peskov, who argued that the reliable safeguarding of Russia's security and its national interests will be ensured in any case, despite the differing views expressed in public debate.
"Regarding the discussions on how security should be safeguarded, you know that there are supporters. including academics. who favor very decisive measures, while there are also those who support more restrained approaches.
However, there should be no doubt about one thing: the reliable security of the Russian Federation and its national interests will be safeguarded in any case," Peskov underlined.
According to Peskov, Putin has pointed out that the legitimacy of Volodymyr Zelensky is being called into question from a legal point of view.
On Wednesday, the newspaper Ukrainska Pravda, citing its own sources, reported that the former chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny was summoned to Kyiv before the departure of the British prime minister from his office.
According to the publication, Volodymyr Zelensky directly posed the question to Valery Zaluzhny as to whether he intends to be a candidate for the presidency, in case elections are held in the autumn, receiving a clear affirmative answer.
"It is worth recalling the words of President Vladimir Putin, according to which the legitimacy of Volodymyr Zelensky is under serious question from a legal point of view," Dmitry Peskov stated.
